RAFTING

PLEASURE/BEGINNER TOUR

CHOTA RIVER (class II – II+)This tour is recommended for someone looking for a calmer rafting trip of moderate difficulty. It is a wonderful opportunity for beginners to experience rafting while enjoying the beautiful scenery that the Chota Valley in Northern Ecuador offers. This is an exciting option with a low risk level and is appropriate for people 12 years of age and up and for families, students, or anyone looking for a relaxing experience.
Ambuqui-Chota region
Duration of rafting: 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on river conditions
The tour begins from the bus station or Ecomontes Tour office in Otavalo. Includes private transport beginning and ending in otavalo, rafting equipment, guide, and snack.
Minimum 4 people necessary for each tour.

COMBINED TOUR: TRAIN AND RAFTING

In Ibarra we will board the train that will take us on a spectacular ride. The first stage of the journey provides spectacular views of local seasonal crops, such as sugar cane, cultivated in the valley. After passing through many tunnels and narrow passageways, we will arrive in the desert-like Chota valley. After approximately three hours on the train, we will get off for lunch and begin our white-water rafting tour.
