Amazon Rainforest

Amazon jungle tour (cuyabeno)
 
4 days – 3 nights (a)
 
  day 1: upon arrival at the Cuyabeno bridge (or Lago Agrio if you fly in) your guide will meet you to transport you by motorized canoe to your camp, the Cuyabeno River Lodge. lunch and initial jungle walk. dinner and sleep.  
  day 2: breakfast at 7:30 am before visiting the Cuyabeno lake system by motorized canoe. during the ride you will observe the exotic flora and faunae (monkeys, dolphins, etc.) peculiar to this unique environment. with luck you might spot a giant anaconda on the hormiga river, a tributary river of the laguna grande. you will stop for a boxed lunch. in the afternoon, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the laguna grande before returning to the camp. dinner and sleep.  
  day 3: breakfast at 8 am before hiking through the primary rainforest where your guides will introduce you to various medicinal plants. you will also have the opportunity to observe monkeys and parrots, among others, and with luck you might even spot a jaguar. you will also run across various animal tracks (tapir, armadillo, paca, puma, etc.). this walk is for approx. 4 hrs.    
  day 4: breakfast very early in the morning. you can then choose the activity that you enjoyed most during the previous three days and experience it again. lunch before taking the bus back to Quito.

• park entrance fee (20 usd for foreigners, 5 usd for nationals)

what to bring:

• passport for foreigners or tarjeta andina (rosada) for nationals
• light clothes, long sleeve shirts, bathing suit
• flashlight
