DAY 01: After a morning flight from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra Island, our English speaking guide will meet us at the airport and transfer us to the port of Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) for lunch. After lunch, we will go by speed boat for approximately three and half hours to Isabela, arriving at the San Vicente Hotel for a short rest. We will then visit the Flamingo Lagoon, the largest coastal lagoon in Galapagos and a principal breeding ground for the Flamingos. Dinner and accommodations.
DAY 02: Early in the morning after breakfast, we will begin our full day tour (including a boxed lunch) to the Sierra Negra Volcano, located 13 miles from Puerto Villamil. Boasting the world’s second largest volcanic crater measuring 6 miles in diameter and 300 feet deep, we will ride horses up to this magnificent site to visit La Bocanilla and Volcan Chico. In the afternoon, we will return to the hotel before having the option to go Kayaking in Playa Grande (located in Puerto Villamil) or snorkel in Concha Perla .Dinner and accommodations.

DAY 03: After breakfast we will visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center and “The Wall of Tears”; from 1946 to 1959 Isabela was designated a penal colony by the Ecuadorian government for prisoners who were obligated to build a wall with enormous blocks of lava. Due to the arduous labor and harsh conditions in which the prisoners lived, this site is known as “El Muro de las Lagrimas”. Additionally we will visit a small lava tunnel and a second Flamingo lagoon before returning to the hotel for lunch.
In the afternoon we will sail to “Islote Tintoreras,” a large crevice with very clear, calm water in which white-tip sharks (“tintoreras”) rest daily on the bottom. We can also see Penguins, Sea Lions, marine Iguanas and snorkel with sharks and colorful tropical fishes while enjoying the beaches of Isabela. Dinner and accommodations.

DAY 04: After breakfast we will visit the highlands of Isabela Campo Duro where we will go horseback riding and visit giant tortoises in their natural environment. After returning to the hotel for lunch, we will ride bikes to the town before kayaking in the Flamingo Lagoon. Dinner and accommodations.
DAY 05: Early in the morning after breakfast, we will return by speed boat to Puerto Ayora where a guide will be waiting for us to check-in at the hotel. Immediately afterwards we will begin our visit to the Highlands of Santa Cruz Island where Giant Turtles live in their natural habitat. After lunch in the Highlands, we will return to Puerto Ayora and go to the Charles Darwin Research Station and its Interpretive Center. There we will have the opportunity to see Lonely George, the last Galápagos Turtle of his species. Dinner and accommodations at Hotel Mainao. Optional: in the evening you can return to the town for entertainment.
DAY 06: Breakfast. En route to the Baltra Airport we will visit “Los Gemelos” or in Spanish,“The Twins,“ collapsing craters formed from lava flows passing beneath the Earth’s surface. We then depart to the Baltra airport for our flight to Quito or Guayaquil.
