Travel to Peru and experience its wonders with this 8D/7N Travel Vacation Package and Tour that includes Lima, Cuzco, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Puno and Lake Titicaca

MachuPicchu This 8 day journey will take you to Peru´s most precious treasures: the beautiful capital of Peru, Lima, Cuzco and the legacy of the Incas, the lost city of Machu Picchu, Puno, and the imposing Lake Titicaca. You will observe the stunning scenery of Peru and some archaeological sites that will definitely captivate your imagination.

Lima is the capital of Peru and was founded in 1535 by the Spanish "Conquistador' Pizarro. The city replaced Cusco as capital and soon became the richest settlement of Spain in the New World. Today Lima is a metropolis of over eight and a half million inhabitants. In the center you can find various interesting sights, like the museum of Anthropology, the Gold museum, the catacombs of the San Francisco Church, and the Plaza de Armas.

Once Cuzco formed the heart of the Incan Empire, and was later conquered by the Spanish. They destroyed the city and used the foundations of the Incan constructions to build a new colonial city. Around Cusco, in the Sacred Valley of the Inca's, you can still find many impressive Incan ruins, such as Sacsayhuaman and Ollantaytambo. Nowadays Cusco is a beautiful colonial city, where ancient spirits still tell their colorful tales.

The region of Puno played a very important role in pre-Incan and Incan times. According to the legend, Manco Capac, the first Inca, and his wife Mama Ocllo emerged from Lake Titicaca instructed by their father, the Sun, to establish the Tahuantinsuyo Empire. Puno's main attraction is Lake Titicaca: Situated at 3,809 meters above sea level (12,379 ft), Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world, with a length of 120 miles (194 kilometers) and an average width of 40 miles (65 kilometers). Its depth exceeds 81 feet (25 meters) in places, and its colors range from deep blue to pale green. An extraordinary variety of wildlife makes its home by the lake, including flamingos, ducks, trout, and local fish such as the suche and carachi. The totora reed, which grows all over the lake serves both as food (for people and animals), and building materials (for homes and rafts).
